5.Why do you use materials such as PEEK and Kapton? We use PEEK- for example in our proprietary SST connector- because it's an excellent insulator and it's mechanically very strong (you can't deform it by hitting on it with a hammer). PEEK also has a very high melting point (600 degrees Celsius). So PEEK is not only material for optimal sonic results but it's also very safe material.
We use Kapton in our Classic and Signature Series cables. Kapton because it is a more stable insulator than most other insulation materials (including Teflon) and it has excellent electrical and mechanical proporties. Kapton has a very high melting point (400 degrees Celsius) and is extremely durable. Because of this, the double insulation layer can be very thin allowing twisting the conductors in a near perfect symmetry and angle, which results in very low inductance and excellent EMI and RFI rejection.
