Siltech’s SAGA Amplification System has been awarded an Editors’ Choice Award — Dedicated Audio by The Absolute Sound, recognising its radical architecture, uncompromising engineering, and exceptional musical performance.
Throughout Siltech’s near four-decade history, the company’s mission has remained unchanged: to bring listeners closer to their favourite recordings by preserving the integrity of the musical signal. While Siltech is best known for its world-leading cables, SAGA represents one of the brand’s most ambitious projects, a true statement amplifier system designed to lose nothing and add nothing.
Structural Amplifier Gain Architecture
At the heart of SAGA lies Siltech’s Structural Amplifier Gain Architecture, a fundamentally different approach to amplification. Instead of combining all gain stages into a single chassis, SAGA physically separates the C1 line-stage preamplifier, V1 voltage gain interstage amplifier, and P1 power amplifier.
This three-way split minimises signal loss, noise, and distortion by isolating each gain function and optimising it independently. The result is an amplifier system that behaves unlike any conventional design, delivering extreme clarity, scale, and control.
Advanced modelling and noise elimination
During development, Siltech engineers employed advanced physical modelling using NASA-awarded COMSOL multi-physics software to analyse and reduce electrical, electromagnetic, electrostatic, and mechanical interference. This modelling informed every aspect of the system’s architecture, from circuit layout to power management.
Both the C1 and V1 operate on battery power, eliminating mains-borne noise entirely and allowing the use of ultra-low-noise vacuum tubes in the most sensitive stages. This approach produces an exceptionally quiet background, preserving micro-detail and subtle musical cues.
Apollo Light Drive power supply
For the P1 power amplifier, Siltech developed the Apollo Light Drive: a unique power supply system that uses a high-intensity light source to drive a photo-electric cell. This creates a galvanically isolated, noise-free DC supply capable of delivering immense current.
The P1 produces 350W RMS per channel into 8 ohms and doubles into 4 ohms, with no overall feedback, delivering vast dynamic swings while remaining immune to mains-related distortion.
A statement in musical realism
Built with cost-no-object components, S10 monocrystal silver internal wiring, and advanced materials such as Kapton and PEEK, the SAGA system achieves an extraordinary 145dB dynamic range. When paired with dual P1 amplifiers, loudspeakers can be bi-amplified for even greater authority and realism.
With this Editors’ Choice Award, SAGA stands as one of the most ambitious and musically revealing amplifier systems available today.
Thank you to The Absolute Sound for this prestigious recognition.
